O.A.R. Follows Sold-Out Concerts With Intimate College Dates
NEW YORK-MARCH 24, 2004-Hot on the heels of sold-out dates with Robert Randolph and The Family Band, O.A.R. will hit the road again with a round of intimate college dates. Known for their raucous live gigs, O.A.R. continues to amass a loyal following of adoring supporters. The Hollywood Reporter contends "their musical message of uncomplicated fun and good times is enough to make anybody happy." O.A.R. recently collaborated with tourmates Robert Randolph and The Family Band for a blistering cover of the Led Zeppelin classic "Fool In The Rain." The track, available now exclusively on the Apple iTunes store, shot its way into the Top 15 week of release.
Lead singer/guitarist Marc Roberge promises "This tour is different from anything we have ever done. We want to bring a longer, more song-filled show to new fans and old. We have never been so excited to drive around this country."
O.A.R. are considered by many to be one of the most successful D.I.Y. bands in recent history. The band recently released their second single Right On Time to radio on the heels of their 2003 single, Hey Girl, which charted at Top 40, Hot AC and AAA. Their recent Lava/Everfine album "In Between Now And Then" was touted by the New York Post as "one of the ten best [albums] of ."
O.A.R. is comprised of singer/guitarist Marc Roberge, lead guitarist Richard On, bassist Benj Gershman, drummer Chris Culos and saxophonist Jerry DePizzo. The band formed in 1996 in the suburbs of D.C. while attending high school together. Later, the quintet attended Ohio State University while continuing to solidify the band's vision.
