Former lead singer of the multi-platinum band Matchbox Twenty has now gone solo and is touring to promote his new CD called Something to Be. When Rob took stage he introduced his seven piece band, which includes three back up singers. With his new shorter hair cut and wearing jeans and a black shirt, Rob seemed energetic and the sold-out crowd was just has eager to hear his set. Rob performed many songs of his new CD like crowd favorites Problem Girl, rocker song This Is How A Heart Breaks, Something To Be, and his new hit single Lonely No More. Rob did not forget about his past hit songs and he included in his set 3 A.M. Push and a bluesy version of Smooth. He also did a surprising cover of Bill Withers’ Ain’t No Sunshine which he mixes into Steve Millers’ Fly Like An Eagle. Rob looked somewhat awkward at times trying to dance to a few of his new songs and the three back up singers are simply not needed. However, the new CD will definitely prove that Rob’s solo career will take off to great heights, and Rob is doing things his way and making it real.
