I was able to watch Jay-Z performance last night by Live Webcast. If you missed it you can catch some of the highlight here on video.
Jay-Z ripped through a blazing 90 minute hit-filled set at Bonnaroo Music and Art Festival. The festival is held at Great Stage Park on a 700-acre (2.8 km²) farm in Manchester, Tennessee, 60 miles southeast of Nashville, Tennessee, and 60 miles northwest of Chattanooga. I have to give Jay-Z serious props for last night performance. He did not sing three songs and leave the stage. Jay-Z gave them more than their money's worth. Unlike some performers before his set, Jay-Z really connected with the audience and hyped them to interact with him. He reined King of Rap Last Night and reminded us why. He had Tweeters pecking out Hooooovvvvv, and responding like the live audience as well. The Audience truly enjoyed Jay-Z and to see the camera give us views of the crowd, swaying bouncing, throwing the Illuminate sign with a bounce above their heads was amazing.
When the man breaks a sweat on the stage you know he is working. Unfortunately many Twitters that were watching and trying to start 'Big S" with that he must be on something. I also did not realize that temperatures reached well into the 90's yesterday in Manchester, TN. A little shower poured down during 'The Dead Weather" act. Steaming heat, packed crowd, and lights on open field, you would be sweating as well ripping some of his best hits. Jay-Z ripped through a hit-filled set for an estimated crowd of 70,000 on in Manchester, Tennessee, USA. Where is Manchester? These were just a few of the songs that he performed that included: 'On To The Next One, Big Pimpin', 99 Problems, Hard Knock Life, 'Empire State of Mind, Can I Get A..., Izzo (H.O.V.A.), Public Service.
"Announcement, allow me to introduce myself, my name is Hooooovvvvv!"
Jay-Z cool swagger was unduplicated; I thought "hey, this is not the Jay-Z I see on award shows. This is Jay-Z recantation of the Hova persona." Even at a point he picked people out of the crowd and gave them recognition. A very lucky young lady wearing a tank top under a ripped shirt with writing on it that was drenching wet. Jay-Z invited her on stage because it was her birthday. He and the crowd were singing, "Happy Birthday to Maggie." Though Beyonce was there, this was definitely his moment, to show his undisputed skill as one of, if not the best, rapper of all times.
