Saving Abel, Saving Abel

Virgin Records USA - March 11, 2008

by Anita Maree Lande

Saving AbelIf you might have missed this CD release, take a look and listen again. Saving Abel has established themselves as one of the new and exciting upcoming bands combing their influences with a mix of hard rock and stirring in their own southern style groove. Based in Nashville, lead singer Jared Weeks power vocals are showcased on the fast moving CD opener New Tattoo. The five member band also consists of Scott Bartlett and Jason Null on guitars, Eric Taylor on bass, and Blake Dixon on drums. It is no wonder that Addicted went platinum as Jared chants; I'm so addicted to all the things you do/When you're rollin' round with me/In between the sheets. One of their strongest ballads is 18 days. The song pays homage to our nation's troops and it reached into the top 10 at alternative radio. Other track winners include the heavy guitar-driven Beautiful You and their fast chart mover Drowning (Face Down).

They joined forces this summer and they are currently on tour promoting their debut CD with Papa Roach, Hinder, and Nickelback. Now this could be one addiction not to kick!
