National Treasure 2 Book of Secrets Our favorite treasure hunters are back in National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets and pick up the action and excitement where the first one left off. Benjamin Franklin Gates ( Nicholas Cage) sets out to prove that his great grandfather wasn't the mastermind behind President Abraham Lincoln's assassination, which is alleged by a gentlemen from the south (Ed Harris). Gates enlists the help of his faithful friend Riley (Justin Bartha) and his former love interest Abigail (Diane Kruger) along with his divorced parents Patrick (Jon Voight) and Emily (Helen Mirren). With the adventure bringing Gates to Buckingham Palace and to Mount Rushmore, he learns that he needs to find the Book of Secrets, which is said to contain the truth about everything from Ben's grandfather to the JFK murder, andhappens to be held by the President of the United States. How do you talk to the President in private? You kidnap him! Ben does just that and if clearing his grandfather's name isn't enough, he now must solve the mystery to clear his own name.
The film has fast paced action, cunning trickery, and endearing characters that you are rooting for from the beginning of the move till the end of the credits. As with all good hollywood movies, you are hoping that the good guy gets the girl. And in this case, both Gates men find a way to re-kindle the love that has been lost and is very heart warming.
The movie leaves room for yet another sequel with bits and pieces of unanswered questions and perhaps another treasure hunt. If you liked the first movie, you will definitely enjoy this one too. With this release being offered on Blu-ray, it is well worth getting to add to your collection. The sound in Dolby TrueHD isphenomenaland while the Blu-ray picture is impeccable, I can't say enough good things about how great sound is in Dolby TrueHD. Also included on the disc are plenty of extras for the die-hards that really want their moneys worth when it comes to features.
