Kung Fu Panda [Blu-ray]

Kung Fu Panda introduces us to a loveable panda named Po, whose voice is comedic actor Jack Black. Po dreams of being a Kung Fu master alongside his idols Tigress, Crane, Mantis, Viper, and Monkey known as the Furious Five, but instead Po is stuck working for his father's noodle restaurant. Did I mention that his father is a goose? When Po goes to the ceremony to see who kung fu master Oogway will choose as the next Dragon Warrior, he finds himself in the middle of all the action and becomes the center of attention as Oogway chooses him to be this Dragon Warrior, who, in a tale of prophecy, will defeat their enemy the evil Tai Lung and so begins our fun filled adventure.

Jack Black is always funny and he serves up some "awesomeness" and really brings to life this cuddly chubby panda bear. There is an all star line up with additional voices provided by Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Lucy Liu, Seth Rogan, Jackie Chan, and Michael Clarke Duncan who really bring their animated characters to life.

It is no surprise that this DreamWorks and Pixar animation film looks amazing on Blu-ray. This reference quality presentation is a must have to show case how amazing a Blu-ray player and high def T.V. can be. The colors used are vibrant and have this three dimensional look and set the tone perfectly along with the soundtrack for the emotion and action in each scene. The audio track in Dolby True HD is crystal clear. The bass at times can be room shaking and yet the voices are never over powered and are completely listenable at normal audio levels.

There are plenty of bonus features to keep everyone entertained for hours and a good majority is presented in high def.

Kung Fu Panda introduces us to yet another loveable animated character as we found in Nemo, Ratatouille, Cars, Shrek, etc... and I am sure we will be seeing more of this butt-kicking Panda in the not too distant future. If they keep the action and sincerity as genuine as it is in this film, they should be able to build a franchise that will be entertaining for the whole family.
